The Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal has scheduled a Session to hear evidence and arguments on the human rights dimensions of hydraulic fracturing and other unconventional fossil fuel extraction processes.

The Tribunal will consider whether sufficient evidence exists to indict certain named States and TNCs on charges of failing adequately to respect the human rights of citizens as a result of permitting, and failing to adopt a precautionary approach to, hydraulic fracturing and other techniques of unconventional oil and gas extraction within their jurisdictions.

The Sessions of the PPT will take place in USA and UK in 2017.
